Following a Call for Proposals (Digital Challenge) won by the Toulouse-based start-up GoGoWego, Toulouse Métropole initiated a first in France, with the launch in November 2017 of the “Violette” Chatbot, virtual assistant to allow citizens to interact 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on issues relating to available public services.
After the experimentation, “Violette” has now been fully adopted by Toulouse. This initiative has facilitated access to information and services in Toulouse, but has also given rise to a genuine dialogue with citizens. “Violette” brings together various services (weather, forecasts, itineraries, events in the city, etc.) that are previously available on different channels. It also provides answers on frequently formulated questions relating to waste disposal, administrative procedures and opening hours.
